Durrës is the 2nd biggest city in Albania, after the capital Tirana. It’s famous for its ancient ruins, rich culture, and sandy beaches along the Adriatic coast. The development of Durrës as a city has roots in antiquity as well, with its famous Italian-style amphitheater and archeological museum standing as testaments to this fact. At the moment, everything is fresh seafood restaurants, bustling people in the cafes, and Tirana is just around the corner. This is a place for people who’d like to have a vacation and explore different ways of being. But is it worth the trip? Why not. It is the second Durrës, after all, where culture and history come together with a great ocean view. This city is very crowded and boasts rich history at the same time. It was known as Epidamnos, which was later changed to Dyrrhachium during the time of Roman domination.
